I Love Fall

I love the colors of the leaves, and the rustle sound they make when you walk through them. I love the smell of dirt in the harvest. I miss being in the fields watching the beet digger load the trucks. I miss riding with my mom and Dad to take a load to the beet dump. I miss watching for the giant potatoes, and the funny shapes that would get taken out in the sorting process. I miss the sound of shot guns as my brothers and Dad would chase after pheasants flying out of the field being harvested.

I love the cooling temperatures, and opening my windows at night. I love watching the geese fly south. I love the corn stalks on porches and the carved pumpkins and front steps.

PUMPKINS-- I love pumpkins. I love their color and I love their flavor. I love pumpkin pie, cookies, bread, pancakes, and muffins. I love pumpkin rolls and cranberry pound cake. I love fresh apples off of the trees and all the yummy apple desserts.

I love knowing that Thanksgiving is right around the corner- a wonderful reminder to be thankful for all our many blessings and for reflecting a little on what Heavenly Father has given us.

I even love watching the first snow fall, it makes me think of reading a book by the fire (while drinking hot cocoa of course).

Fairy Tale Friday

Dressed as a witch, with a spider on my leg, I showed up to Noemi's first grade class to do Fairy Tale Friday. The kids had a blast! Noemi was very surprised to see her mom all dressed up. We read fun halloween stories and made a fun witches broom with pretzel sticks and fruit leather. We also made little spiders with dum dums and pipe cleaners.

Mother Daughter Costume Party

Fun, fun and more fun. Brett, Zae and I went to the activity days mother-daughter activity in full costume. In case you can't tell, I am the pumpkin in the middle. We had a lot of fun picking from a menu of brain chunks, bat croppings, goblin slime, roundworms, tapeworms, vampire blood, ogre mucus, eye balls , live maggots, and toe scabs. Yum, yum, yummy!

My Big Surprise!

All of my wonderful friends told me they were taking me to a movie for a "night out" and surprised me with a baby shower. I want you all to know that I held my composure during the shower, but had my own little tear fest as I got home and sat around all the blessings that were so generously given to me. Thank you!! It is overwhelming to be surronded by such wonderful, selfless friends.

"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop. There is at last a drop wich makes it run over: so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over." ..... James Bosswell

Dale's political statement

With all the political signs around the neighborhood, Dale was feeling a little left out. So he added a touch of his own political spice. "Go Boise State!"

It's Halloween time, can you tell.

I know she is a little young to read Stephanie Meyer, but not too early to be obsessed with vampires. Dale started me on this blog at 11:30PM so it is a little rough around the edges to begin.

This is what happens when Daddy is left in charge.
